USA DANCE TO RESCHEDULE NATIONAL COLLEGIATE DANCESPORT CHAMPIONSHIPS, EXPAND PROGRAM TO INCLUDE REGIONAL COLLEGIATE EVENTS – NDCA ACTIONS FORCE SAM SODANO TO CANCEL WORKING PARTNERSHIP WITH USA DANCE
USA Dance regrets to inform its National College Network that the NDCA leadership has taken actions which has forced Ohio Star Ball event organizer Sam Sodano to sever his long-standing business relationship with USA Dance, resulting in the rescheduling of the USA Dance 2016 National Collegiate DanceSport Championships in Columbus, Ohio onNov. 19-20.
Mr. Sodano explained to USA Dance President Ken Richards that at the OSB, he would offer a collegiate competition, but assured USA Dance that the event would not be promoted or titled as a "National Championship," as those designations are the sole and proprietary sanctioning rights of USA Dance.
As Mr. Richards affirmed, "USA Dance has always had a long and mutually beneficial working partnership with Mr. Sodano and the OSB, both supportive of the USA Dance mission to provide the highest quality of collegiate DanceSport competition for colleges and universities throughout the USA.
USA Dance will soon announce the rescheduled dates for the National Collegiate DanceSport Championships as well as the USA Dance DanceSport Council's plans to affirmatively expand the number of regional DanceSport competitions for the College Network throughout the country.
